for little Ginny

They only say that I'm a flicker

   of blue that twitches above your head

A big ball of gas, millions

   of years from your tiny covered bed

But as your eyes flutter

   shut tight for a nightly rest

I sprout wings of comets

   and sail down to your cotton nest

I fill your mind with rainbows

   of scented skies and honeysuckles

And float away early morn

   on dawn's tiny toe wiggles
