this small girl
knows not her beauty
buried deep in the pit of her heart.
her hair
is the crown men will want.
she is
the absence of man’s beauty
and far more sensitive to words.
fathers,
if you do not tell her,
if you do not hold her,
how will she find her beauty,
how will she know when a man steals her happiness,
if you do not show her the way?
